Altered Key holder Tutorial .

Hi there..
Today i would like to share with u all a tutorial..
yes! a simple method to alter the home decor product with minimum craft supplies which are easily available.

Few days back, the craft store ItsyBitsy had announced a challenge in blog . Theme was to create something using Alcohol Gold Splash which the company had recently launched.
and i got a chance to work on the same product.
The product is amazing to work with, very easy to use.. and the results are awesome.

Here is my try on Altered Key holder.
(P.S : i am not an expert on Mix Media.. this is just my try .. so please excuse my faults )

Also please note that this a heavy picture post..

First of all, cleaned the mdf base key holder with a neat cloth and applied a thin layer of White Gesso all aound the holder. (sorry , i forgot to take the raw mdf holder pic)

Next i added the Doilies and White resin embellishments and applied a second thick coat of Gesso.

The flowers and leaves which i have used is from ItsyBitsy store which are light pink and Green in colour.

Using Gesso, i have painted the flowers and leaves white. when dried, i have sprayed Alcohol Pink punch for the flowers and Alcohol Gold Mocha Splash for the leaves.

Using Acrylic colours, Dark Blue and Magenta, i have  dabbed the paint on the holder.

Then added Acrylic colour Pearl Metallic Purple to the Surface to lighten the Blue and Magenta shades by dabbing with sponge.

After done with painting, added the flowers, leaves, Metal embellishments, and a Gold embroidery thread at the bottom of the holder.
( u can see the embellishments are yet to dry.. i was super excited to take pictures.. so did not wait till dry up )😊

Atlast, used Gold Alcohol splash and sprayed all over the frame.

And here is the finished work ! ..

It is as simple as that.. and i really loved the outcome.
Hope u all enjoyed reading my post too.
Do leave some love!

Thanks
Swarna
